In loving memory of Frances Meraz,

Frances Meraz, 82 of Bisbee, Arizona went to be with Jesus on Wednesday August 5 th , 2026

surrounded by her loved ones. Frances was an angel sent to this earth and she returned back

home to heaven when Jesus called her back.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to those who knew and

loved her.

Frances was born at the Copper Queen Community Hospital in Bisbee Arizona on January 23 rd

1944. She graduated from Bisbee High School and moved to Willcox for a short time before

returning back to Bisbee to spend the rest of her years. She was a proud Bisbee resident and

enjoyed working for the Bisbee School Cafeteria until she retired. Frances spent her retired

years taking care of her grandchildren, family, and any friends who needed help. She was

beautiful inside and out as her light radiated wherever she was, she had a way to make

everybody she was around feel seen, heard, and special. Frances made every single moment

beautiful.

She was married to Robert Meraz and together they had two children, Henry Meraz and Adel

Lewis (Meraz).

Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved cooking, eating sweets, shopping and

listening to music. Her favorite singers to listen to were Alejandro Fernandez and Elvis Presley.

On multiple occasions she was able to see Alejandro Fernandez in concert with her siblings and

grandchildren. When she was home her favorite shows to watch were Hawaii Five-0 as well as

George Lopez, Soap Operas, and Crime Shows.

She enjoyed beautiful flowers, roses were her favorite. Frances was one to always put others

first and especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren any chance she got. As they got older she

continued to spoil them and was a huge supporter of their goals and what they decided to

pursue in their adult lives.

Frances was known for her delicate and sweet personality. Anyone who came to know Frances

soon found out that she was a very special lady. Her love carried over to her family in

abundance. She made the best red chili and corn tamales, they were loved by all.

She is survived by her daughter Adel Lewis and son Henry Meraz; grandchildren Amanda Lewis,

Brittany Lewis, Kimberly Lewis & Marissa Meraz. She leaves behind her sister Irma Rodriquez,

brothers Oscar Valencia, Jordan Valencia and Richard Valencia, also many nieces, nephews and

friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Marcella and Frank Valencia. Her husband Robert

Meraz and her sister Henrietta (Andy) Amaro.

Frances was an angel sent to us from heaven that we were so blessed to borrow for a short

time. She will forever be loved and missed. Our hearts are sad to let her go, she was truly one

of a kind. We shared so many beautiful memories that we will forever remember and cherish.

We will miss her and love her forever until we all meet again in heaven.

Funeral services for Frances will be held at the St. Patrick's Church on Friday September 4 th

starting at 8:30 am, rosary at 9:00 am and service at 9:30 am, followed by the VFW for a

memorial gathering.
