Bruce Postles was born to Edna and Gordon Postles in 1962 being one of seven children growing up in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. In his teen years, he performed as a singer at events and block parties with numerous friends as well as in musicals being a member of the Bronx Opera Choir. He then joined the United States Marine Corps at a young age, married his first wife, Rose, and had two children--Ebony and Gordon. As a Marine, Bruce saw action in Somalia and Panama and Beirut, Lebonon, surviving the Marine barracks bombing in Beirut in 1983. After the Marine Corps, Bruce worked in New York City and was a security officer at the World Trade Center when the 1993 terrorist attack occurred. Choosing to work in a more "peaceful" setting, Bruce moved to Arizona, started working with adjudicated, high-risk youth and met a rather nerdish and silly teacher named Laura Miller, current Principal of Lowell School. They fell in love and decided to make Bisbee their home. They had two daughters, Gina and Anna, and Bruce became the In-School Suspension monitor for Douglas High School making sure students didn't leave ISS without doing all their missing work. He ended his working life as an owner operator truck driver. Bruce was an athlete, an artist, and enjoyed photography. However, his absolute favorite activity was cooking. He loved cooking large meals of barbecued ribs, collard greens, black eyed peas, stuffed mushrooms, baked macaroni and cheese, as well as soups, pasta sauces, marinated chicken, steaks, fried eggplant with onion dip, and large breakfasts. Family was always first, and he took pride in providing. Bruce is survived by his first wives, Rose and Deborah, and his current wife of 25 years, Laura. In addition, he is survived by his children Ebony, Gordon, Gianetta, and Breanna, grandchildren Alondra, Joel, Amari, Jaleah, and Mailani, and two great grand daughters. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 27th, 4:30pm at Espinosa Funeral Home with a catered reception meal afterwards at Bisbee HS cafeteria. We'd love it if, in honor of Bruce, you brought a favorite dish to share! Memorial services will be Wednesday, August 27th, 2025 at 4:30 pm at Alex Espinosa Bisbee Funeral Home.
