BRIAN ARTHUR SWAN

Brian Arthur Swan passed away January 6, 2026. Brian was born in Stockton, CA. to Alan and Edith Swan on March 3, 1972. He graduated from Edison High School in Stockton in 1990 and then briefly attended Delta College before joining the rest of his family in Bisbee where he owned property on Swan Rd.

After moving to Bisbee, Brian worked at Blazer before becoming the animal control officer for the City of Bisbee. He then pursued a career in law enforcement joining the Bisbee police department where he remained until his retirement in 2019.

Brian was a keep to himself kind of person and lived his life quietly at his home. He was a big Raiders fan, never abandoning his team even when everybody would tease him about how bad of a football team they were. Brian enjoyed cooking and using his smoker to prepare tasty meats for family and friends. He also had a passion for cars, especially fast cars, a passion shared by his father, Alan. Brian was loved by many including his former wife and friend forever Margie Swan, who truly understood him. They spent nearly 30 years together and cared for each other deeply. Brian was blessed to inherit a very loving extended family to include his beautiful mother in-law, the late Herlinda Tafoya, who thought the world of him. Brian never really liked to show emotion but had a soft spot for his mother, Edith, for whom he would do anything for.

He is survived by his parents Alan and Edith Swan; sisters Laura Swan (Ruben Chavez), Patricia (Michael) Slagle and brother David Swan. He also leaves behind nephews Joseph Moreno, Carlo Moreno, Miguel Chavez Tovar and Nicholas Slagle; nieces Ariana Tovar and Deserie Slagle and his inherited nieces Mille and Charlotte Bright. Brian never wanted children but loved his nephews and nieces very much and was very proud of their accomplishments.

He will be loved and missed by his family and friends.

A memorial is planned for January 30, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the VFW, 1326 Highway 92, Bisbee.

To our son,

We know you are no longer suffering, that is the only thought that can provide some comfort at this time. We are never going to truly know the reason why you decided this was your path, but we know that it was never meant to cause pain to any of us. Your memory will remain everyday. The times we spent together we will hold close to our hearts. You were our first born, making us proud parents from that moment on. We love you and we will miss you.

Love Mom and Dad
