Betty Marie Bailey

August 25, 1934 — April 27, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty Marie Bailey on the morning of April 27th, 2026. She was 91 years young and very active in the community. She loved her morning coffee with friends at Burger King. She volunteered at the Bisbee Mining and Historical Museum each week, lunched with her friends at Gus the Greeks on Wednesdays and belonged to Tops for years and attended their meetings every Friday. She enjoyed fellowship at the Community Church on Sundays. She was a very busy lady with lots of friends.

Betty was in the first graduating class of the RN program at Cochise College and had a wonderful career as a nurse at Copper Queen Hospital, the State Prison in Douglas and doing home health around the county. She loved nursing and so many people love and remember her as a caring nurse and person.

Betty was preceded in death by parents, James and Gladys Planck, sister Alice, and her husband Martin.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Richard) and son Neil. She has four grandchildren, Nathan, Crystal, Liberty, and Sierra. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, Tyler, Brian, Annica, Alana, Lucas and Allie.

Services will be held at the Community Church on Saturday, May 9th at 10:00am. Internment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Please join us for a luncheon following internment at the Community Church.
