Obituary

Angelica Maria Rodriguez was born on January 15, 1979. She passed away on September 4, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. At the time of her passing, she was living in Douglas, Arizona.

Angie was a beautiful, strong, and caring soul with a heart for giving. She loved her family and friends deeply and genuinely cared for the people around her. Her love extended to animals as well, and those who knew Angie knew just how big her heart could be.

Angie was a hardworking and dedicated woman who served as a corrections officer, where she was well-liked and fondly remembered by her coworkers. It was during a brief time bartending at the Legion that Angie met her husband, Jose Rodriguez. What began with that meeting grew into a life and love they would share for 17 years.

Angie knew how to find joy in the things she loved. Music was a big part of her life, and she was an avid concertgoer who enjoyed everything from classic rock to heavy metal and beyond. She loved karaoke, gardening, cheering on the Raiders, and spending time with the people she loved. Her generous nature even showed through her garden! Angie loved growing things and sharing what she grew with others.

In more recent years, the ocean became Angie's happy place. It brought her peace and serenity and allowed her, even if only for a moment, to forget what she was going through and simply enjoy the beauty and calm surrounding her.

Throughout her battle with cancer, Angie's strength was evident, but so was her faith. Even on many of the days when she felt sick, she made it a point to attend church. Her relationship with God remained important to her through some of the most difficult moments of her life.

Angie leaves behind her husband and partner of 17 years, Jose Rodriguez; her beloved children, Brandon Gonzales and Anabel Zamora; her mother, Isela Hughes (Louis); Frank Piñon, who raised Angie and remained an important part of her life; her brothers, Robert Gonzales (Carolina) and Gene Iñiguez; and her five nephews and three nieces, along with extended family, friends, coworkers, and others who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Gonzales, and her maternal grandparents, David and Olivia Iñiguez.

Although Angie's family and friends will deeply miss her presence, they find comfort in knowing that her suffering has ended and that she is now in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Her strength carried her through the hardest days.
Her faith carried her home.
