Armando “Snap” Gil Castro, 75

Armando “Snap” Gil Castro, age 75, peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018. Armando was born on December 15, 1942 in Douglas, Arizona, where he lived for 51 years. For the past 52 years, Armando was happily married to his wife, Dora Castro. Armando was a graduate of Douglas High School, and worked in the local automotive industry from the age of 17, at both Devore Auto Supply and his own store, Castro Auto Parts. Armando’s charming and helpful demeanor was extremely well known across Douglas. Together, in 1993, Armando and Dora moved to Tucson, where they have resided since. In Tucson, Armando continued to work in the automotive industry at Autozone until he retired at 73 years of age. Armando was a loving and caring family man, whose home and heart were always open to everyone. He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco & Trinidad Castro, as well as his siblings, Irma Groves, Rosie Villa, and Arturo Castro. He is survived by the love of his life, Dora Castro; his children, Lisa (Rene) Aguilar, Sonia (Marlin) Wiggans, and Armando “Mandy” (Savannah) Castro Jr; his granddaughters, Briana Wiggans & Larissa Aguilar; his grandson, AJ Aguilar; his brothers, Frank & Robert Castro; his sister, Bertha Sheeley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services for Armando will be Friday, March 2nd in Tucson at Our Mother of Sorrows church with a viewing from 10:00 am -11:00 am followed by a funeral mass beginning at 11:00 am. Armando will be laid to rest on Monday, March 5th in Douglas. There will be a rosary at 10:30 am followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church in Douglas, AZ.
